Mario Martínez Rubio, simply Mario (born 25 March 1985 in Soria), is a Spanish footballer who plays for Real Unión as a midfielder.
A product of hometown CD Numancia's youth system, Mario first appeared with its first team during 2002–03's second division (two appearances), then played 34 matches scoring three goals in 2007–08, as the Soria team returned to La Liga after a three-year absence.
On 31 August 2008, four years after making his top flight debut, Mario scored the only goal as Numancia shock-defeated FC Barcelona at home.[1] It would be his only in the campaign, as the club was immediately relegated back.
After only 13 league games out of 42 in 2010–11 (one complete), 26-year old Mario was released by Numancia, signing with Real Unión in the third division.
